Are you tired of waxing or frustrated by those unsightly red bumps caused by shaving? If you answered yes to either one of these questions, then Vintage Wellness has the perfect cost-effective solution for you. Permanent Hair Removal also referred to as Permanent Hair Reduction or Laser Hair Removal is the ideal choice for men or women who are tired of having to shave regularly. Laser Hair Removal can get rid of unwanted hair on virtually any part of the body including the face and neck, arms, underarms, back, chest, legs, bikini area, hands, feet and even ears!

Remove unwanted hair with the most advanced FDA-approved laser technology for all skin types. Using the most technologically advanced and effective lasers, unwanted facial or body hair can be permanently reduced, in a safe medical environment. Our advanced laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. The light emitted is well absorbed by the pigment located in hair follicles. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling numerous follicles at a time to eliminate or significantly impede the hair's growth.

To understand how laser hair removal works, you first need to understand the hair growth process. For most areas of the body, between 15%-40% of hair follicles are active at any one time. The remaining follicles are resting or dormant but will cycle through the active stage at generally predictable intervals. The activation of dormant follicles can also be influenced by factors such as hormones, medication and heredity. Since laser light is attracted to the pigment (known as melanin) in the hair follicle, only the active follicles can be treated. The laser has no effect on dormant and resting follicles since they do not contain melanin.

The laser process is quite simple. Melanin in the hair follicle absorbs the laser light energy. The absorbed light is converted into heat, causing the follicle cells to overheat and be permanently disabled. Disabled follicles can never re-grow hair giving you the silky smooth, hairless skin you always desired. During the procedure, each pulse of the laser covers an area approximately the size a quarter. A cool gel is used to assist in the comfort of your treatment. While the laser is pulsing, cold air is blown across the treatment area to aid in comfort and skin cooling. This laser process is very fast. For example, the treatment time for small body areas is 30 minutes or less.

Treatment sessions are spaced 6-8 weeks apart depending on where you are in your treatment cycle. Spacing of treatments is recommended to allow follicles that were in their “resting” state or not actively growing during your previous treatment, to enter their active phase and grow hair. The number of hair removal treatments necessary depends on the site being treated and varies by individual. All skin colors can be effectively treated.

Suggested Treatment Interval:
  • Generally 4 or more treatments depending on the area and amount of hair
  • Treatment sessions are spaced 6-8 weeks apart depending on where you are in your treatment
